I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I am sure you all stuffed yourselves to the brim with yummy holiday food! And that is okay if you did, no need to feel regretful. Now it is time to get back into the grind with your workouts and your diets!
That week after the holidays can be slow moving. You just enjoyed time with your family eating a lot of food, indulging in sweets, and maybe having a drink or two. It is easy to fall off track following the holiday because you were treating yourself to some goodies while enjoying that time off from work. Monday was rough, why can't we all have three day work weeks?
Just try and remember your long term goals! I truly believe in enjoying life so you don't miss out on those moments with your family, because that is something you will regret. But you enjoyed yourself so now you should be extra motivated to continue on your fitness journey and make some more progress! Christmas is right around the corner, so you want to stay on track as much as you can before then!
My holiday was good. I enjoyed my time with my best friend and her family. I had to work the next day so my holiday was short and sweet. One of these days I will be making enough money to not ever have to work a holiday weekend. One can hope! I did enjoy my Thanksigivng meal but other than that I was pretty on top of my meal plan, as my goals are quite specific these days. However, my workouts last week were not the best. I had just come home on Monday from a wonderful weekend in Chicago with my bestie, then Thanksgiving, it was just hard to find the motivation. We all have personal issues, but once I sat down and had a serious talk with myself I remembered why I live this lifestyle and I knew this week going forward would be a great one. Two workouts down and I feel great. It is all about remembering where you want to be in the long run!
One thing I did do that I really enjoy is putting up my Christmas tree! My Christmas tree growing up was one of the things I LOVED. My mom took a lot of her time with her tree, handmaking a lot of ribbons and making sure everything was just perfect. Luckily after she passed, I was able to get all of her decorations, so all I needed was the tree. She had a tree with that fake flocking on it, which is so 90's but I love it. Three years ago I was lucky enough to find one just like it. And it looks identical to hers! Which to me is a cool way to remember her by, especially since Christmas was our favorite holiday together, so it is as if I have a piece of her with me during this Christmas season!

I obviously had to get my girl Mac in the picture, she is too photogenic not to be. Jake on the other hand is almost impossible to get to stay still!
The exercise posted below are dumbbell chest press on a flat bench. I used to HATE chest, I mean HATE it. Now I am trying to be more proactive in making sure my chest workout is actually a workout versus me just half assing my chest workout. I also did shoulders today too, as I do one heavy shoulder day, and one light weight high rep shoulder day! Make sure you keep your core tight, breathe through the movement, and don't go too low on the negative phase! Also..please excuse my double chin...Not my most candid moment.
Just to give you all a little preview on what is to come on the blog. I want to start giving you workout ideas for traveling. Tis the season, so why not be able to workout while on the go? I sure do! So I plan on giving you videos and pictures with explainations of things you can do to stay active through your travel!
Lastly, I love fashion. I mean, I am not some girl that sits and reads Vogue about the upcoming trends and what designer is making what. I don't even have money for designer things anyways. But I do really enjoy planning my outfits and ensembles for a special night out, a party, holidays, and even my workout outfits! I pretty much live in workout clothes so I find it enjoyable to look fashionable. But I thought it would be a fun idea to do a "Fashion Fridays" or "Fitness Fashion Friday" and portray my outfits and where I go the items so you all could be included as to where I get my fashion ideas from! Stay tuned!!
Have a kick ass week!!
